The island of Zanzibar can be divided basically into two parts. The western and the eastern shores.
The western shore facing to the continent is not as popular as the eastern one facing to the Indian Ocean.
This is reasoned by the fact that the sand of the eastern shore is white, and it is sunnier.
During low tide, you can walk kilometres in the basin of the ocean, as it is allowed by the features of the coral island.
Then locals also go out to the withdrawing shore, and collect fishes and ink-fishes in the small basins.
